MeAndMic.com Player (Full-Mode)

The MeAndMic.com player allows you to listen to both your recordings as well as other members. This guide covers the player in it's full-mode. To read about the mini-mode click here.

The full-mode has much of the same functionality as the mini-mode but lets you see all the options at once.

 

This is what the player looks like when it`s in full mode.

Top Player Area

  • Switch to Mini Mode: The button on the far left with the minus sign switches the player from Full Mode to Mini Mode.
  • Help: The button with the question mark is the player help. It quickly gets you acquainted with all the buttons and what they do.
  • Exit: The button with the X on the far right is the player exit button.
 

The top controls allow you to switch between modes, exit the player and the help button gives you a quick tutorial on the player.

Main Controls

  • Main Controls: The main controls for the player are located in the middle of the player. The Main control buttons consist of First, Previous, Stop, Pause, Play, Next and Last.

The controls on the player are similar to controls found on other popular players.

Recording Information Area (RIA)

  • Adjusting Volume: Control the volume of the recording you’re listening to right through the player. The volume control is located at the top right of the RIA section and is similar to most other volume controls found on other players.
  • Seeking Through Track: You can easily seek through a track using the track scrubber, which is located in the middle of the RIA area.

You can easily go to different parts of a recording and easily adjust the volume.
  • No Repeat / Repeat: If you love one of the recordings on the website so much that you just can’t stop listening to it, then you can use the repeat button to have it play over and over again. Or you can have the button set to no repeat and the player will cycle through all the recordings on your play list. The No Repeat / Repeat button is located in the middle of the RIA.
  • Rating a Song: Listen to a track and decide what type of rating you think it deserves. The rating stars are located on the right side of the player just below the volume control. Drag your mouse over top of the stars and click down on the star rating you would like to give.

Be sure to rate a song after you`ve listened to it.

Playlist Area (PLA)

In this section you can find all of the songs that are currently on your playlist. If you would like to skip through your playlist recordings you must use the next and previous buttons in the main control area of the player.

  • Delete: This button will delete the selected playlist. NOTE: The playlist will also be deleted from your playlist manager.
  • Save Playlist: The save playlist button is located in the PLA underneath the delete button. If you have created a new playlist and would like to save it, click this button. After you have saved your playlist you can find it in your playlist manager.
  • Select Playlist: After you have selected a new playlist to listen to from the dropdown menu, click the select playlist button to have it load into the player.

The playlist allows you to easily categorize recordings that you like.

Comments Area

  • Comments: You can easily leave a user a song comment from inside the player. When the recording you want to comment on is playing; type in your comment in the comments window and then click submit.
  • NOTE: To close the comments area click the X located at the top left of the comment wing.

Leave a comment so other members get some feedback about their recordings.

Equalizer

  • Spectrum: The spectrum is simply a visual representation of the recording frequencies.
  • Balance: You can switch balance of the recording from your left speaker to your right speaker by using the balance control found in the equalizer area.

Control the balance of the recording you are listening to.

  • Did You Know?: If you want feedback from viewers of your page, just add a Comments Module to the page.
  • Did You Know?: You can set modules and pages to Private while you are setting them up so no one else can see them until you are ready.
  • Some Music Trivia: The first video played on MTV was 'Video Killed the Radio Star' by The Buggles.
  • Did You Know?: Are users telling you that they can't see a module or page on your profile page?  You might have them set to Private and not Public.
  • Some Music Trivia: The Rolling Stones' emblem was created by Andy Warhol.
  • Did You Know?: You can change your user icon from either the Image Manager or from the Membership page.
  • Did You Know?: You can use the Embedded Media module to add video from most of the major video hosting sites.
  • Some Music Trivia: Ironically the only member of ZZ Top that doesn't have a beard is Frank Beard.
