MeAndMic.com Fans

The ability to connect and communicate with other users is the driving force of any social networking site. On MeAndMic.com we call the users that you can communicate with Fans, this user guide covers the Fan Manager but you may want to check out the following other guides:

  • Messaging System: the messaging system and the fan system go hand in hand. If you haven’t already it would make sense to read this guide next.
  • Fan List Module: this guide will show you how to use the Fan List Module which allows you to display all or selected fans on you profile page as well as show their activity.
  • Activity Manager: your fans will get updates of your actions on the site and the Activity Manager lets you define what sorts of actions are posted.

The Fan Manager

From the Fan Manager you can accept/decline fan requests, create fan groups so you can keep all your fans organized and much more.

Accessing the Fan Manager: You should see the link for the message manager from your User Settings, as always you must be logged in to access this page.

Additionally you will see a notification of any new fan requests from here.

Fan Requests will be indicated next to the main navigation.

My Fans: This is the tab where you can view all your current fans.

  • List of Fans: You can view all fans that you currently have.
  • Messaging: You can message fans directly from your fan listing. You have the choice of messaging fans individually or messaging multiple fans at once by checking off the boxes beside the selected fans and then clicking the message button located at the top.
  • Deleting: Similar to the way that you message fans in the fan manager you have two ways of deleting fans. You can delete fans individually or you can delete multiple fans at once.
  • Search: If you are looking for a specific fan you can easily find them using our search system. Click the search button at the top right of the list and enter the necessary information. Your results will then be shown in the list.

Find fans quickly using the search button.
You can select multiple fans using the check box on the left.

Fan Groups: In this tab you can organize all your fans into groups and much more.

  • Creating Groups: At the top of this section there is an area where you can create, rename, delete and message groups. You can have as many groups as you would like and when you delete a group it doesn't mean that the fans in that group have been deleted from your fan list.
  • Mass Messaging: We added the messaging feature to the groups section because it makes it easier to mass message different groups rather than selecting individual fans one by one. For example, if you have just uploaded a new track and you want a select group of fans to know you can easily tell them all by clicking one button.

Create groups and keep your fans organized.
Use groups for messaging or in the fan module on your page.
  • Adding Fans to a Group: When you're adding fans to a group you should specify a target group first. Then select fans from the list on the left and click add. (You can find fans quickly by using the filter button above the fan listing)
  • Deleting Fans from a Group: First select a group that you would like to delete fans from, select all the fans you would like to delete and then click the delete button to the right of the group list. (Deleting fans from a group will not delete them from your fan list)

Make sure you select a target group before you start adding fans.

My Requests: This is where you will find all of your outgoing and incoming fan rquests.

  • Incoming Requests: When you have an incoming request there are a few things that you can do. You can use the buttons to the right of a request field to do the following; view the profile of the user sending the request, accept the request or decline the request.
  • Outstanding Requests: In this section you can view who you have sent out a request to and also when you sent it.
  • Auto Accept: You can click the Preferences button just above the list to open your Message Preferences page, from here you can set all incoming fan requests to automatically be approved.

You can approve multiple requests by checking them and
clicking the approve button at the top of the list.
