General Content Module Guide

Slide Show Module: Use this module to create an image slide-show. Each slide-show can contain upto 20 images with decriptions. Image dimensions should be relatively even.

Settings Overview

Slide Show Settings: Besides the general settings described in Part 5 of this guide there is only one additional module setting:

  • Content Height: You can set the height of the images in the slide show from preset sizes or to To Fit. In all cases the image width will never exceed the module width.
  • Show Image Title/Description: You have the choice of having the title/description of your slide show images to be visible to other users in your slide show. If you do not want them visible uncheck the box.

Make sure to click the Save Button when you are done or you will lose your changes.

Note: Keep in mind the following when working with the slide show module:

  • There is an edit button from the module settings page to the image album page. On the image album page is where you will actually define the images that will show in your slideshow (see below).
  • If you want the scroller to be as smooth as possible select at least 5 images and try to pick images that are not exceptionally tall or wide.
  • When this module loads on the screen it loads all the images in full size as well. If your page loads too slowly try adding smaller images (see the dimensions when picking them) and also try not to add too many slide show modules to a single page.
  • Important: If you add this module to the left column, clicking on the images will display the show in a pop-up window. Some computers may have pop-up blocker preventing this, if you are concerned with this possiblity keep the module in wide or right columns.

Towards the bottom-right there is a button to add images to the module.

Slide Show Manager: If you click on the edit button from the module settings you will navigate to the slideshow manager where you can:

  • Add Images: Use the Image Folder and Image File dropdowns to pick images from your image folders.
  • Edit or View Images Once an image has been added you can click the View or Edit buttons for that image to be viewed or removed. Note that removing an image does not affect the original in your folder.

You do not need to save from the image list as each change you make is automatically saved.

Use these controls to create the list of images for your slide show.

Slide Show Module Examples

In wide mode you can set your images quite high.

Note in left mode the images will always be this size but when you click on them a pop-up will open with your height settings.
