Short Guide

  • Profile Setup: Once you have logged in go to the user settings page and set the account profile.
    • First: Set your user icon. You can also change your password or email.
    • Second: Set up all the contact information for the person who is the primary user of the account.
    • Finally: Define the artist profile, this is especially important information for musicians (solo and group types) as it will directly affect how easy they are to find in the Search page.

Detailed Guide: User Profile

Completing the account information is especially important if you are planning to use the site to promote yourself effectively. So if your user type is any of solo, group, professional or promoter make sure to read this section.

Step 1: Make sure you are logged in and go to the User Settings page. The user settings page is where you will manage all aspects of your account. The link to the user settings page can be found in the same spots as the login; either at the top of any user page or beside the navigation links on other pages.

The link can be found in the theme header.

Or on the right side of other pages.

Step 2: From the user settings page you click Overview. You then have three areas to access:

  • Membership Information: Here you can set your email, user icon or reset your password. See Step 3 for more.
  • Contact Information: Most of this information is kept private except the city, region and country which will show in the searches. See Step 4 for more.
  • Artist Profile: This information is the public information about your account. See Step 5 for more.

Just click the edit button next to the data section you want to change.

Note: Many of the forms on MeAndMic.com will show in a display mode when loaded and have to be switched to an edit mode to make changes to the data.

  • The button to switch to edit mode is on the far right of a form.
  • When you are in edit mode you should see a button to update changes and another to cancel on the far right. You must click the update button if you want to save your changes.
  • Typically fields that can be edited will have a white background when in edit mode and a green background when they are read only.

Look for an edit button to the side of any given form.

In edit mode editable fields will be white.

Step 3: You can set your Membership Information.

  • Membership Data: Change your email or newsletter settings. Just click the edit button on the right side. Once you make any changes make sure to click the update button or the changes will not be saved.
  • User Icon: Set your user icon (you might want to wait until you have uploaded some images before this step). Your user icon or avatar will be the image that other users see when you message them, when they search for you etc.
  • Password: You can change your password. If you forget your password and cannot login, there is a link to recover it on the login screen.

Step 4: Next set your contact information.

  • The most critical information here are the city, region and country fields since they will affect how you are found in the site search engine.
  • All other information on this page is private and only required for e-commerce transactions, like buying merch.

Step 5: Set your User Profile Information.

  • About Me:
    • Alias: The name that everyone will search for you as.
    • Bio: Write a short biography about yourself that other users can view.
    • Listening to: Choose solo artists/groups that you listen to most often. There is a predetermined list of artists in the dropdown menu that you can choose from. To quickly access particular artists just type in the first few letters of their name and they should appear in the dropdown box.
  • About Your Voice and Karaoke Preferences:
    • Your Voice: Choose solo artists/groups that you sound similar to. There is a predetermined list of artists in the dropdown menu that you cans choose from. To quickly access particular artists just type in the first few letters of their name and they should appear in the dropdown box.
    • Preferred Genres: Select genres that you listen to the most.

This section will give other users an idea of who you are.
