User Guide - Main Page

Although MeAndMic has some features that are similar to others sites, the way that we do things might be very different as well as we have many concepts that are completely new altogther. Because of this it is recommended that if you are a new user you take the time to go through this guide to minimize any confusion and make sure you are using the site to it's fullest capacity.

We've taken the normal steps that a new user would go through, categorized them and put them in what we think is the most usual order that the average user would go through. Each section will have an overview at the top and a more in depth step-by-step below.

Keep in mind that most pages also have a help link in the top-right corner of the title bar.

Recommended New User Approach

First: Register and setup your profile. Second: Upload any image and song files you'll need. Third: Pick and customize your page style. Fourth: Manage the pages and add modules. Finally: Setup your modules
and add content

New User Guide

  • Part 1: Registering a new account and setting up your profile. After registering you can go to:
    • The Registration Wizard: Learn how to use the the registration wizard to setup your profile, upload some starting media, set your personal page style and add content to your personal page.
    • Your User Settings: Learn how to access your User Settings page as well as edit your user profile manually.
  • Part 2: Uploading image and song files.
  • Part 3: Creating your page styles.
  • Part 4: Managing your pages and adding modules.
  • Part 5: Configuring module settings.

  • Did You Know?: You can have multiple Blog modules on your page.  Create one for show reviews and another for your music rants.

  • Did You Know?: Are users telling you that they can't see a module or page on your profile page?  You might have them set to Private and not Public.
  • Did You Know?: You can use the Embedded Media module to add video from most of the major video hosting sites.

  • Did You Know?: You can set modules and pages to Private while you are setting them up so no one else can see them until you are ready.
  • Did You Know?: If you want feedback from viewers of your page, just add a Comments Module to the page.
  • Some Music Trivia: The first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA.
  • This just in!!: We've added new themes including country based themes. Check them out from your Style Manager.

  • Did You Know?: You can change your user icon from either the Image Manager or from the Membership page.
  • Some Music Trivia: The Rolling Stones' emblem was created by Andy Warhol.
  • Did You Know?: Want organize other user's music? MeAndMic's playlist manager will allow you to collect songs into separate playlists.
  • Did You Know?: Your page theme is just a start, you can pick a theme and then customize it from the style manager.
