Short History
The Karaoke World Championships is the world's biggest and most respected karaoke event. It brings together singers from all over the world, regardless of race, nation or religion. The KWC is an opportunity for aspiring singers to show their amazing talents to the entire world, and to give the crowd an unforgettable experience.
2011 saw singers from around the world competing in beautiful Killarney Ireland. After 3 days of heavy and entertaining competition Cassandra Jopp from the USA and Marc Hatem from Lebanon were crowned as the grand champions with Trevor Dunn from Canada voted overwhelmingly as the audience favorite.

KWC Rules
The following are a brief outline of the KWC rules. Additional rules may apply on a country/venue basis, as well as for the online competition. Please see individual country pages
for more.
- KWC Event is open for amateur singers over 18 years old.
- KWC Event is for amateurs: an amateur is defined as a person who has
never before made ones full-time income from singing or being as a vocalist.
Also person who has had / has a record contract, steady secondary occupation as
a vocalist is not defined as amateur. Written proof from singer’s
occupation/profession must to be sent to KWC Organization no later than one (1)
month before KWC Event.
- Men and women have their own categories, there is no duet category
- The competitor will have to pre-submit 5 different songs for the competition. Only
original DVD, Laserdisc, VCD and CD+G with words are allowed.
For example any home-made compilation of five songs from different original
discs are not allowed. KWC Organization reserves full right to decline any other
format that is not listed above.
- KWC Champions are not allowed to take part to future KWC Events as a competitor.
- The singer must be a citizen of the country they are representing.
